Enhanced Learning with Digital Packages

These digital packages are carefully selected to align with the British Curriculum and support our teaching methodologies. They provide interactive and engaging content that helps our young pupils grasp complex concepts effectively. Our teachers integrate these resources seamlessly into their lessons, ensuring a dynamic and interactive learning experience for every child.

Here's how we ensure a comprehensive and engaging education at our Preparatory Schools:

Technology-Infused Learning

In every Year Group, lessons are enhanced through the planned use of technology. Our classrooms feature interactive whiteboards, individual monitors, and connectors in dedicated ICT spaces. Each pupil brings their own Microsoft Surface Device to school, fostering a seamless integration of technology into their learning journey. Additionally, our VR room allows classes to access virtual and augmented reality experiences, further enriching their educational exploration.

Read Write Inc. (RWI) Phonics

Phonics instruction is a vital component of our curriculum, running from EYFS to Year 3. We use the well-regarded Read Write Inc. (RWI) Programme to systematically teach pupils to read. Through carefully selected books that align with the sounds they have learned, pupils gain confidence and develop a positive attitude towards reading. Phonics lessons take place in homogenous groups, ensuring effective skill development and steady progress.

Talk for Writing (TfW)

Our Preparatory Schools have adopted the Talk for Writing (TfW) approach, which focuses on developing writing, reading, and spoken language skills. This whole-school approach recognises how children learn and encourages them to internalise language structures through oral language activities and close reading. Each unit of learning follows a three-stage pedagogy, starting with an initial assessment and culminating in independent, creative writing that showcases each pupil’s abilities.

White Rose Maths (WRM) Framework

To cultivate confident mathematicians, we utilise the White Rose Maths (WRM) framework. Our lessons prioritise mastery, with pupils employing concrete, pictorial, and abstract methods to grasp mathematical concepts. Mathematical language is emphasised throughout lessons, ensuring pupils engage with the content, tasks, and resources, evident in classroom displays.

Online Platforms

We provide a range of online platforms to support our pupils' academic development. These include Accelerated Reader for personalised reading practice, STAR Reading Tests to monitor progress, Kutubee for access to digital resources, Century Tech for personalised learning experiences and TT Rockstars for improving times tables skills. These platforms enhance learning, promote independent study, and foster a positive and collaborative learning environment, ensuring our pupils have the tools they need to succeed academically.

Communication with Parents

We believe in the power of collaboration between home and school, and Class Dojo provides the perfect platform for us to work together as a team. With Class Dojo, parents stay connected and informed about all the exciting happenings at school, enabling them to actively participate in their child's progress and stay involved in their learning experience.
