Application Process
At Sherborne Qatar, we follow the National Curriculum of England (2014), adapted to suit the local context. This includes the teaching of Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Qatar History, in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education's requirements.
Our academic year runs from 1st September to 31st August, and pupils are usually placed in the Year Group that corresponds to their age and their previous school year. If your child has not attended a British curriculum school before, we recommend consulting the attached MoEHE Education Equivalency Chart to determine their appropriate British Year Group.

Admission to Sherborne Qatar Preparatory, Junior School, Senior School or School for Girls is subject to passing an entrance assessment.
Each journey is slightly different depending on the age of your child. It is important that we get to know your child as an individual. Which is why we go through a comprehensive admissions process which is outlined below:
- All applicants are required to undergo an assessment as part of the application process.
- The nature of the assessment will vary depending on the applicant's age, and parents will receive prior notification of the assessment's contents.
- The assessment helps us evaluate the applicant's suitability for admission.
- English language proficiency at an age-appropriate level is necessary for successful admission.
If an applicant meets the entry requirements but the relevant Year Group is full, parents will be offered a place on the Headteacher's Waiting List.
