How do I apply for places in the Girls’ School?
When did the school open?
The school opened for the Academic Year 2020/2021 in January 2021 for year groups Pre-School to Year 6. In 2021/2022 the school opened the secondary section of the school up to Year 10. Year 11 opened in August 2022 and these girls will continue to Year 12 in 2023 and Year 13 in 2024.
What are the fees?
Does the school accept MoE Vouchers?

What exams does the school offer?
From academic year 2022/2023 the first Year 11 pupils will sit their I/GCSE examinations and we will offer AS / A Levels qualifications to our new Year 12 pupils from the academic year 2023/2024.
In addition to the British National Curriculum what subjects are offered?
The school is a STEM School. This means it educates girls in four specific disciplines:

- Engineering
- Mathematics

Do I need to provide my daughter with a laptop or a tablet?
To support the STEM element of the curriculum we are a ‘Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)’ school and your daughter will need a suitable device to attend classes. Advice on this is given by your child’s teacher.
In which language are lessons delivered?
All lessons, except for Arabic lessons, are delivered in English.
From where are the teachers recruited?
All teachers are recruited from the UK or from other British schools overseas.
Are all the teachers fully qualified?
All teachers are female and hold a teaching qualification and degree relevant to their subject. The Executive Team of Sherborne Qatar helps to support and lead the school.
What times does the school operate?
The timings are similar to the other Sherborne Qatar schools (7:20am to 1:40pm).
Are enrichment (after school) activities currently offered?
We offer a broad and extensive enrichment programme similar to the one which operates at the other Sherborne Qatar Schools.
Is there a House System?
Does the school have a School Council?
Yes, and pupils from each year group are elected to it.
Is there a uniform code?
In line with our other schools there we have a uniform code.
Does the school have a School Counsellor?
No, but all staff have pastoral responsibility for the girls and experienced staff oversee pastoral issues.
Is catered food available?
Catered food, similar to that which is offered at the other Sherborne Qatar Schools, will be available when restrictions will be lifted after the pandemic.
Will there be a bus service after the pandemic?
Sherborne Qatar does not operate a bus service but Tri Logistics will provide a service to and from the Sherborne Qatar Schools.
Does the school have its own medical team?
Yes, nurses are provided by the same company which services the other Sherborne Qatar schools and they operate in a fully equipped medical room.
Will my daughter automatically move from the Junior to the Senior part of the school?
Which GCSE subjects are compulsory?
All girls will be expected to take I/GCSE examinations in English, Mathematics, Science and a language. Pupils will supplement these with choices from a range of other subjects.
Are fathers and brothers allowed to visit the school for events and performances etc?
There are opportunities for fathers and brothers to visit the school at certain times for events. Also, meeting rooms are available at the front of the school so that both parents can have meetings with staff.
School events allowing visitors are currently suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Is Music a compulsory subject?
Music is a compulsory part of the curriculum in those year groups in which it is scheduled.
Will there be any joint events with the other Sherborne Qatar Schools?
Once the restrictions imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic will be lifted, there will be events which involve one or more of the other Sherborne Qatar schools.
