A WARM WELCOME
FROM THE HEAD OF YEAR 9
Year 9 is an age where pupils are changing and growing rapidly mentally as well as physically; maintaining positive mental health is vitally important and something we work hard on in Year 9.
Year 9 is the final year of the lower school and is an important one as pupils choose their I/GCSE options and begin to prepare for their examination classes. In order to best support pupils in this choice, the pastoral team run a collapsed PSHE day where pupils have the opportunity to find out about the I/GCSE system and learn about the new and different subjects which are available to them. In addition, we have an open evening where teachers give information on their subjects and are happy to answer any questions parents may have.
Throughout the year pupils complete activities during form time and they also take part in a collapsed PSHE day where they learn about the importance of mental health and strategies to help develop good habits and maintain positive relationships with others.
Finally, Year 9 is designed to be an enjoyable year. Pupils go on geography and Qatar History trips to various sites in Qatar, complete enrichment activities 5 days a week after school and do a team building activity day to ensure our pupils are healthy, happy and looking forward to the future.
