WELCOME TO
Our Key Stage One
Our early years provision promotes independence, encouraging children them to find their own solutions and take responsibility for their own actions.
Our Heads of Year Jessica Deane (Year 1) and Lucy McFaul (Year 2) lead our wonderful Key Stage One team as children take their next steps moving towards a more formal education.
Located within the main school building, our Key Stage One classes are situated just across from the EYFS classrooms. With large and well – resourced classrooms, children remain engaged through multi – sensory and active learning opportunities.
Year 1 support the transition from Early Years by providing continuous provision where small adult-led groups are enhanced by cross curricular activities that children can access independently. This provides individualised learning opportunities and an age – appropriate learning environment.
Children across Key Stage One enjoy a rich variety of fun and engaging topics, over arching all areas of the curriculum to provide context and purposeful learning opportunities. With a strong emphasis on communication and language, problem solving and resilience our children emerge from Key Stage One ready to take on the new challenges in Key Stage Two.
